China Mobile announced the latest R & D results of the company - taking the lead in implementing the world's largest base station, terminal chip and test instrument end-to-end interworking based on 3GPP's new air interface standard and released the first prototype test results of 5G core network pre-commercial products , Laid the foundation for 5G business.

 

In addition, China Mobile also announced that it will build the world's largest 5G pilot network under the guidance of the government and formally announced the 2018 5G scale pilot project - to be held in five cities of Hangzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou and Wuhan Field test, each city will build more than 100 5G base stations; will also be in Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen and other cities in the 5G 5G business and application demonstration.

 

In terms of industrial cooperation, China Mobile relies on the 5G joint innovation center set up two years ago to showcase the latest applications of cross-industry integration and innovation, including 5G remote ultrasonic diagnosis system and its application in many vertical fields such as power, petroleum and manufacturing . 5G Joint Innovation Center established by China Mobile now has 12 5G joint innovation laboratories at home and abroad, set up 5G Multimedia Alliance and 112 partners to jointly promote the application innovation of 5G products.

 

During the conference, China Mobile also released "5G SA (Independent Networking) Breakthrough" with a number of partners to speed up the 5G core network industry. In addition, China Mobile joined forces with many industries such as Deutsche Telekom, Huawei, Volkswagen, and China Electric Power Research Institute Leading enterprises jointly proposed the establishment of "5G slice working group" to promote the 5G network chip industry applications.

 

In addition to China Mobile, China Unicom proposed service-oriented evolution for 5G network slices during the conference to provide customers with consistent 4G to 5G network services and to achieve "network evolution under smooth service transition." Over the same period, the 5G network acceleration product "Acceleration Selected by China Unicom" jointly launched by China Unicom and Ali also appeared at the show and is expected to be fully launched this year.

 

It is learned that China Unicom plans to conduct 5G tests in 7 places in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Xiong'an New Area and has submitted an application to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and said that in the future it will also increase according to the requirements of MIIT and NDRC Test the number of cities.

 

Recently, China Telecom successfully conducted the first test of 5G OTN bearer equipment at Beijing Institute of Technology. According to the plan, China's 5G test will be divided into two steps: The first step is from 2016 to 2018, for the 5G technology research and development test, the main goal is to participate in supporting 5G international standards; The second step is from 2018 to 2020, 5G product development Test, the main goal is to carry out 5G pre-commercial test.

 

The industry predicts that our country is expected to achieve pre-commercialization of 5G communications by 2019 and large-scale formal commercialization of 5G communications by 2020. Beijing Economic Commission recently revealed that this year Beijing will conduct commercial pilot 5G. At present, from a technical point of view, Beijing 5G trial has basically been prepared, and other countries promulgated the corresponding standards, will officially enter the market.
